Our goal is to provide the highest quality hunt in the most secure environment. The following rules and regulations are essential in helping us provide the best possible hunt
All hunters must be at least 14 years of age. All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All hunters must have their license and have completed the Hunters Safety Course as required by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
The Sandstone follows all Texas Parks and Wildlife rules. Those who do not obey these laws will be asked to vacate the ranch. Hunters are to report any unlawful violation encountered on the premises. The Sandstone fully cooperates with the State Game Warden and TPWD and any local agencies enforcing game laws on our property.
Please keep all firearms cased and in vehicles until ready to hunt. No firearms in the house except for owners. Never touch or examine another hunter’s firearm unless given permission. Always practice good gun safety. Hunters and guests should always treat a gun as if it were loaded. Never climb a deer stand with a loaded firearm. Do not aim guns at or around vehicles, blinds, feeders, hunters or guests. Use every precaution when climbing the twenty foot deer blinds.
The Sandstone Ranch game management policy will be followed at all times. Your guide will assist you in making accurate aging and scoring decisions. The guide’s decisions are final in the field.
Please refrain from using the ranch vehicles unless permission has been granted by one of the ranch owners. Stay on the roads at all times if given permission to drive.
The ranch is home to several species of poisonous snakes, spiders, scorpions and possibly bees. Please be aware that these are present and may be encountered at any time on the ranch. Snake boots are recommended and advised to be worn at all times while you’re on the ranch participating in any outdoor activities. Please bring your own as the ranch does not provide them.
Hunters will acknowledge that the ranch premises are in a drought prone area, and as such, is subject to fire hazard. All hunters, guides and guests shall be responsible for exercising extreme caution when handling fire including smoking and driving through dry areas.
Every effort will be made to recover all animals wounded or crippled during a hunt. An un-recovered animal is the same as a kill on all guided hunts, regardless of gender. Guide and ranch staff will determine the replacement value of the unrecovered animal.
The nearest emergency facility is Brownwood, Texas, which is thirty minutes away. Please remember to bring all necessary medications and take precautions to avoid injury while on the ranch.
If you have to cancel your hunt, please do so as early as possible. There is a non-refundable booking fee. If you are removed from the ranch for a violation, your entire fee is non-refundable.
